Gerson Monfort, a 44-year-old construction worker, was last seen in Miami, Florida on December 31, 2021. The last known communication from him was a WhatsApp message sent at 6:01 p.m. on that day. Friends and family grew concerned when he failed to show up for his construction job and his regular weekly dominoes game. Monfort, who has family in Haiti, has not been seen or heard from since.
Investigators have linked Monfort's disappearance to a married couple, Occius Dorsainvil and Marie Jocelyne 'LouLou' Dorsainvil. This connection came to light following the couple's arrest for the kidnapping and torture of another man just three days before Monfort went missing. In that case, which began on December 28, 2021, Marie Dorsainvil lured a male acquaintance to her apartment. Once inside, the man was ambushed by Occius Dorsainvil, who was armed with a gun. The couple held the victim captive for three days, subjecting him to torture and demanding $50,000 and the title to his car. The victim was eventually able to escape after being forced to drink a mixture of bleach and Haitian rum, which caused him to lose consciousness.
Following their arrest for the December 28 kidnapping, authorities discovered a photo of Gerson Monfort on Occius Dorsainvil's cellphone. When questioned, both Occius and Marie Dorsainvil admitted to kidnapping and robbing Monfort as well. However, they claimed to have released him in good condition. Despite their confession to the abduction and robbery, no charges have been filed in Monfort's disappearance, and the case remains unsolved. The Dorsainvils were charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, extortion, and attempted murder in connection with the other man's abduction.Last Seen: Dec 31, 2021
