Chyna Danielle Crawford, a 25-year-old woman from Washington D.C., was last seen on October 23, 2023. On that day, she was in the 1600 block of Good Hope Road Southeast and had spoken with her mother, making plans to meet up that upcoming weekend. Crawford was also supposed to go shopping with a friend but never arrived, and her friend was unable to contact her. After several days of unanswered calls and messages, her family grew concerned.
Her mother's attempt to locate her through the Find My iPhone app was unsuccessful as the phone was turned off. A welfare check requested by the family at her apartment revealed nothing out of the ordinary, and Crawford was not present.
Crawford's disappearance was officially reported to the Metropolitan Police Department on October 26, 2023. Along with her, her gray 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS550 with temporary Virginia license plate number 998859V also went missing. According to her family, Crawford was in daily contact with her mother and had no involvement with drugs. Her boyfriend was incarcerated at the time of her disappearance and is not considered a suspect.
In March 2024, a significant development occurred in the case when Lashawn 'Tweety' Washington, 32, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and obstruction of justice in connection with Crawford's disappearance. Authorities allege that Washington, along with others, kidnapped Crawford with the intent to rob her and was ultimately responsible for her death. Washington, who was an acquaintance of Crawford, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial. Despite the charges, Chyna Danielle Crawford's body has not been located, and foul play is suspected due to the circumstances of her disappearance.
