Setina Princess Weddles, a four-month-old infant, is believed to have disappeared around August 21, 2016, from Stockton, California. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are deeply troubling, intertwined with her family's unstable and dangerous lifestyle. She and her twin brother, Ren, were not officially reported missing until January 4, 2018, nearly a year and a half after Setina was last seen.
The case came to light when the entire family, including parents Aaron Weddles and Princess Canez-Walker and their other children, were reported missing. Five days later, police located the parents and three of their children living in "deplorable" conditions in their SUV in Stockton. The vehicle was filled with garbage, suspected mold, weapons, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. Setina and Ren were not with them. The other children were taken into protective custody.
The parents, Aaron Weddles and Princess Canez-Walker, were uncooperative with investigators regarding the whereabouts of the twins. Aaron Weddles reportedly told police, "Do your jobs, that's what you're getting paid for." Princess Canez-Walker suggested the children might have been kidnapped but provided no further details. Conflicting stories emerged from the parents. Aaron Weddles claimed the last time he saw the twins was on the night of May 13, 2016, just before he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. Canez-Walker allegedly told a cousin that Ren had died and she had put his body in a freezer, a statement she later retracted. An aunt of the children last saw Setina a few months after Ren was last seen and was told by Canez-Walker that Setina was with Aaron's family. When the aunt asked Setina's older sister about her whereabouts, the child replied, "Oh, she's gone. She goes bye bye."
In August 2019, murder charges against Weddles and Canez-Walker were dropped due to a lack of evidence. They both pleaded guilty to eight counts of child endangerment, one for each of their children, and were sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Despite extensive searches, including digging in the backyard of a former residence, no trace of Setina or her brother has ever been found. Their whereabouts remain unknown, and their case is considered an endangered missing investigation.
