On the day she went missing, Manial was with a group of friends in the Oregon Peak area, searching for a Christmas tree at the Indersol Tree farm. As the group was preparing to depart, Manial reportedly walked ahead of them and was never seen or heard from again.
At the time of her disappearance, Debra Kay Manial was described as a 29-year-old Caucasian female, standing at 5'4" and weighing approximately 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She had a horizontal appendectomy scar and a scar on the knuckle of one of her thumbs.
Manial was wearing several pieces of jewelry when she was last seen, including a distinctive white gold necklace that breaks into two parts with "MIT" on one and "ZVAH" on the other, a gold-colored chain with a "Pegasus" pendant, a gold and silver colored band, a silver St. Peters and Paul class ring with a blue stone, and a silver spoon ring. She also wore a wide silver-colored band with engraved crosses and a belt buckle made of blue "Incolay" stone featuring two white unicorns with a silver rope design.
