Delfino Guadalupe Lopez Fajardo, a 47-year-old father of two, was last seen on August 15, 2024, in Mountain Center, California. Known affectionately as "Lupe," Fajardo is a long-time resident of Idyllwild and a beloved member of the community, where he has worked as a cook at the Red Kettle Restaurant for over two decades. On the day of his disappearance, Fajardo had visited his sister in the hospital and was on his way home.
The circumstances surrounding Fajardo's disappearance are alarming. He was reportedly involved in a near-accident, which led to a road rage incident with another driver. Surveillance footage from a gas station in the 63000 block of Highway 74 captured the ensuing confrontation at approximately 6:30 p.m. The other driver followed Fajardo to the gas station, confronted him, and began pushing him. Frightened, Fajardo fled on foot, jumped over a fence, and ran into the woods with the other driver in pursuit. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Days after he was last seen, Fajardo's truck was discovered abandoned near the Santa Rosa Reservation. The vehicle had been ransacked, adding a disturbing element to the case. Law enforcement, including the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, conducted searches in the area where he was last seen and where his truck was found, but these efforts have not yet led to his discovery.
Fajardo is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing around 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, and black shoes. His family, friends, and the Idyllwild community have organized searches and held vigils, holding onto hope for his safe return. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case and encourages anyone with information to come forward.Last Seen: Aug 15, 2024
