Shannon Humphreys, a 53-year-old man from Watsonville, California, was last seen on September 6, 2018. His disappearance is considered suspicious by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, as his family and friends say it is highly uncharacteristic of him to be out of contact. Humphreys was last seen at his residence on Freedom Boulevard and Corralitos Road.
At the time of his disappearance, Humphreys was 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He is a Caucasian male with white hair and brown eyes. He was reportedly wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and sneakers when he was last seen.
The circumstances surrounding Humphreys' disappearance are unusual. He left his home without his car, wallet, and cell phone. Disturbingly for those who know him, he also left behind his beloved dog, Sampson, whom he reportedly took everywhere. The only item he is believed to have had with him is his house key. It is unknown what mode of transportation he might have used.
Humphreys had been employed at a motorcycle shop, Moore and Sons, for eight years prior to his disappearance and was an avid motocross racer. His failure to show up for work was one of the initial causes for concern. Friends describe the ongoing uncertainty of his whereabouts as a frustrating and constant source of worry. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is investigating his case and encourages anyone with information to contact them.
