Daniel Lee Cho, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of California, San Diego, was last seen on April 14, 2004, at La Jolla Shores in San Diego, California. At approximately 2:30 a.m., Cho was wading in the ocean with two female friends when a riptide pulled him further into the deep water. His companions attempted to rescue him but were unsuccessful. He was wading along the shoreline with two female companions when a riptide caught him and pulled him out into the deep water. His friends tried to rescue him, but they were unable to help.
