Carl Bookhamer, a 65-year-old man, was last seen on July 16, 2015, at his residence in the 500 block of 7th Street in Crescent City, California. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male, 5'10" tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. Bookhamer has never been heard from again since he went missing.
Following his disappearance, there were unconfirmed sightings of Bookhamer. He was reportedly seen walking in the Russian Gulch area near Fort Bragg, California, as well as through the North Fork Area of Smith River, California. Investigators learned that prior to his disappearance, Bookhamer may have been involved in a dispute with a friend regarding an incident in Crescent City. However, it remains unclear if this disagreement is connected to his case.
Authorities have stated that foul play is a possibility in Bookhamer's disappearance, although there is limited evidence available in the case. In addition to being a missing person, Bookhamer is also wanted for violating his sex offender registration requirements. He has a 1995 conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. The Crescent City Police Department is the investigating agency for this case.
