In 2006, 69-year-old Betty Lou Japel and her long-time companion, 73-year-old Kenneth William Miller, vanished from Quartzsite, Arizona. The couple had spent over three decades traveling the country in their motorhome, often out of touch with family for extended periods, but always eventually returning to their home base in Oregon.
