In a heartbreaking turn of events, the search for a missing Oklahoma man concluded with a sorrowful discovery. Erik N. Throne, a 56-year-old male, was last seen on December 14, 2025, in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. His disappearance followed a single-vehicle accident that afternoon near Highway 64 and Ross Road. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing Mr. Throne walking away from the crash site, heading eastbound into a wooded area. He was wearing a gray ball cap, a blue hoodie, and blue jeans.
Concerns grew when he did not return home, and his daughter officially reported him missing to the Muskogee Police Department on December 29, 2025.
The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office took the lead in the investigation and launched extensive search efforts. These operations, which continued through January, involved multiple agencies, including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and local emergency response teams who utilized drones to survey the rugged terrain. Investigators were told he might have been trying to make his way back to a hotel where he was staying in Muskogee. Authorities noted that he appeared to be injured after the crash, possibly with a head injury, but had reportedly refused assistance, stating his brother was on his way to get him. Law enforcement did not suspect foul play but believed he may have been experiencing trauma related to the accident.
Tragically, on March 13, 2026, the search for Erik Throne came to a somber end. The sheriff's office received a call reporting a body found in a pond near Highway 100 and Interstate 40. First responders secured the scene, and the body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for identification. Authorities soon confirmed the remains were those of Erik Throne. The official cause of death is pending the final report from the medical examiner. This case began as a search for a missing person following a car accident and concluded with the sad discovery that Mr. Throne had passed away.Last Seen: Dec 14, 2025
