In the summer of 2025, concern grew for 80-year-old Michael James Yarwood after his family realized that weeks had passed without any word from him. An 80-year-old resident of Anchorage, Alaska, Michael was a man whose sudden silence was unusual enough to cause alarm. His last known contact with his loved ones was on July 28, 2025. As the days turned into weeks, the lack of communication prompted his family to reach out to the authorities, and on August 15, 2025, the Anchorage Police Department
officially opened a missing person investigation. Michael, a white male with gray or partially gray hair and blue eyes, stood at five feet seven inches tall and weighed around 235 pounds.
The circumstances surrounding Michael's disappearance were shrouded in uncertainty. With no definite leads, investigators and his family were left to piece together the possibilities. One theory that emerged was the potential for travel, as it was suggested that he might have made his way to Las Vegas. However, this remained a possibility rather than a confirmed destination, leaving a wide range of unknown scenarios. The Anchorage Police Department, along with the Alaska State Troopers, began their efforts to locate him, reaching out to the public for any information that could shed light on his whereabouts. The community was asked to be on the lookout for a man who had seemingly vanished without a trace, leaving behind a family deeply concerned for his welfare.
As time has passed, the case of Michael Yarwood remains a poignant and unresolved story. The initial report, filed in the late summer of 2025, marked the beginning of an ongoing search for answers. The lack of contact and the mystery of his potential travel plans have left a void for those who know him. The official investigation continues to seek any piece of information that might lead to a breakthrough, hoping to provide his family with the closure they desperately need. The overview of the case is one of an elderly man whose regular contact with family ceased, leading to a missing person report and an ongoing investigation into his unexplained disappearance.Last Seen: Jul 28, 2025
