In the early summer of 2025, a 28-year-old man from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, named Tyrek Lee Harrington, traveled to Los Angeles, California, for what was meant to be a visit with friends. He arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on June 3, 2025, and was staying in the downtown area, near the 800 block of South Francisco Street. For the first few days, all seemed well.
