She was last seen on August 17, 2024, in the vicinity of Kiana Lane where she lived with her boyfriend, Tyrique Williams, and their young daughter. In the days and weeks that followed, communication from Annie ceased, which was out of character for the creative and outgoing woman who was described as the other half of her sister's heart.
Her family was under the impression that her boyfriend had reported her missing to the authorities. However, as time passed with no word from Annie, her family's anxiety mounted, leading them to question the status of the investigation they believed was underway.
It wasn't until October 2024 that the devastating truth came to light. When questioned by Annie's family, Williams admitted that he had never actually filed a missing person report for her. Annie's family immediately reported her disappearance to the Fayetteville Police Department on October 10, 2024, nearly two months after she was last seen. The police department issued a public request for assistance on October 15, sharing details about Annie, including her distinctive tattoos and a unique in-toeing walk. The investigation led authorities to her boyfriend, Tyrique Zavier Leroy Williams, who had recently enlisted in the U.S. Army and was in basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. On April 16, 2025, Williams was arrested by U.S. Army CID and charged with first-degree murder and concealment of death.
