In the autumn of 2024, concern grew for a 24-year-old woman from Anchorage, Alaska, named Uputaua Pelenato. On October 23, 2024, she was last heard from when she sent a message on Facebook Messenger. After this communication, she seemingly vanished, prompting her case to be reported to the Anchorage Police Department and the Alaska State Troopers three days later.
