The Alaska State Troopers (AST) had last contacted him on August 31, 2024, near Copper Creek Road and Totem Road in Wasilla. A family member last heard from him via phone in mid to late September. At that time, MacDonald mentioned he might attempt to hitchhike to Fairbanks.
