Piper PA32 aircraft, tail number N8978, was located crashed on Mount Gerdine, west of Anchorage, at approximately the 8,700 foot level. The aircraft was on a flight from Anchorage to McGrath with three people on board. Occupants are Christopher Bailey, Jerry Melin and William Newman. Due to the terrain, the occupants were never recovered.
