In the spring of 2022, a young girl named London Kerr, then approximately two years old, vanished from an apartment complex in southeast Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. For many months, her absence went unnoticed by authorities. The concerning circumstances of her disappearance only came to light in October 2024, when the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) attempted to take London into their care from a home in Moore, Oklahoma, but she was not there. Neighbors reported that they had not seen the little girl in years. London is a White female with blue eyes. The investigation into London's whereabouts soon focused on her primary caregivers, her mother, Ashley Rowland, and Rowland's boyfriend, Joshua Denton. When initially questioned, Rowland provided false information, claiming London was with her father in Georgia. She later changed her story, alleging she had given her daughter to a man named "Carlos," from whom she had purchased methamphetamines, and that he might have taken London to Mexico. However, Rowland later admitted to lying about "Carlos." The lack of credible information from the caregivers raised extreme concern for London's safety. Subsequently, both Rowland and Denton were arrested on complaints related to the physical and sexual abuse of children. The case took a more disturbing turn as other children in the household came forward with allegations of severe abuse. One of Rowland's older children told investigators that Denton had been abusive to both him and London, and that Rowland was aware of the abuse but did nothing to stop it. Allegations included Denton hitting London with a wooden paddle and shooting a BB gun at her and the other children. Denton's own children also reported that he was abusive to them and London, recounting instances of him pouring hot sauce in London's eyes and locking her in a closet. Following these harrowing testimonies, Denton was arrested on multiple counts of child abuse and other serious charges, while Rowland faced charges of enabling child abuse. The search for London Kerr became a multi-agency effort, eventually being led by the Oklahoma City Police Department with assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Despite extensive searches of properties and electronic devices, no trace of London, not even a birth certificate or social security card, has been found, with the only evidence being two photos of her from when she was a toddler. The investigation into what happened to young London Kerr remains active, as authorities continue to hope for a pivotal tip from the public that could lead to her safe return.
