Kalie Goodwin, a 29-year-old woman from Baytown, Texas, has been missing since April 21, 2024. The circumstances of her disappearance have led authorities to name Quan Sergio Flowers, a 39-year-old man also known as "Country," as a suspect. Flowers, already in custody for an unrelated murder, has now been charged with aggravated kidnapping in connection with Kalie's case.
Kalie was last seen at her apartment complex on Decker Drive on the evening of April 21, when she reportedly got into a vehicle with Flowers, which was later tracked by surveillance footage and license plate readers. Her mother, Kaci Richardson, received a phone call the following day demanding a $600 ransom, during which she could hear her daughter in distress, saying, "Momma, my face is deformed," while crying for help.
Investigations revealed that Flowers had been driving a car tracked to the apartment complex where Kalie was last seen. Cellphone data helped locate both Kalie's phone and that of the person linked to the CashApp ransom request to a residence in Houston, where evidence suggested that Kalie had been assaulted. Flowers was eventually arrested during a traffic stop in that vehicle, but his charge for the kidnapping has yet to lead to more information on Kalie's current whereabouts. Her family, alongside Baytown Police, has made several public appeals, including hosting vigils to raise awareness and keep hope alive that Kalie might be found. Her case has been intertwined with the tragedy of another woman, Megan Rouse, who was killed just days after Kalie’s disappearance, and whose death is also linked to Flowers.
Five months since Kalie's disappearance, her family and friends continue their search, holding onto hope that she will be found. They have organized vigils and called on the public for any information that could help find her. Baytown Police Chief John Stringer urged anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward, stating that even a small tip could be crucial in solving the case. Kalie's mother described her daughter as a beloved part of the family, emphasizing that they won't rest until she is brought home safely.Last Seen: Apr 21, 2024
