In the summer of 1987, a young naval officer named Keith Michael Garkowski was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. At just 18 years old, he was serving aboard the U.S.S. Leftwich, a destroyer temporarily docked at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. On July 19th of that year, Keith was seen by his shipmates on the vessel.
