Samuel Wright III, a 78-year-old experienced pilot from Haines, Alaska, was reported missing after the plane he was piloting disappeared on July 20, 2024. Wright, along with two passengers—Hans Munich and Tanya Hutchins—was flying a 1948 Beechcraft Bonanza from Juneau to Yakutat. The aircraft lost its radar signal near Mount Crillon in the Fairweather Mountain Range, and it did not reach its intended destination.
