A family vacation to the rugged beauty of Alaska turned into a heartbreaking tragedy on August 3, 2024, for 37-year-old Mary Maynard and her family from Troy, Texas. Mary, her husband David, 42, and their two sons, 11-year-old Colton and 7-year-old Brantley, were on a 28-foot aluminum boat with four other people in the waters southwest of the Homer spit.
