Lynn Ruth Connes, a 20-year-old woman, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on May 20, 1976, in Berkeley, California. She left her residence on Regent Street that morning to meet a man who had responded to her advertisement for modeling work. The man, who identified himself as "Jeff," had arranged to meet her at the Bateau Ivre Restaurant, just four blocks from her home.
