Heather Bloom Missing Person Case

Heather Bloom, a 28-year-old woman with Down syndrome, was last seen on October 1, 2005, in Berkeley, California. Heather, who requires constant care due to her physical and medical conditions, was under the care of her sister, Shari Bloom, at the time. Heather is non-verbal, though she knows some sign language, and uses a wheelchair for mobility. She also has congenital hypothyroidism and a heart condition that requires daily medication.

Heather and her mother, Phyllis, had traveled from Brooklyn, New York, to visit Shari in Berkeley in June 2005. After her mother returned to New York in September 2005, Heather remained in Shari’s care. The last confirmed sighting of Heather was when police were called to resolve a family argument between Shari and Phyllis at the apartment they were staying in.

In 2009, Phyllis reported Heather missing, having lost contact with both her daughters since the incident. Authorities eventually located Shari in 2010, but she refused to let them inside to see Heather, only communicating through a window. Shortly after this, Shari moved, and police were unable to track her further. It was later discovered that Shari had moved to Norway in 2016, but Heather's whereabouts remain unknown.

Despite years of searching, Heather’s case remains unsolved, and police continue to seek information to confirm her well-being. It is possible she may have been placed in a care home, but no solid evidence has emerged regarding her current location.
