In the early summer of 1979, a 17-year-old girl named Marcia Estelle Remick was living in the coastal city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. On June 5th, she spoke to her roommate, mentioning her plans for the day. Marcia said she was heading out to see a friend at the oceanfront, a popular and bustling area in the city.
