On the afternoon of New Year's Eve in 1981, a 15-year-old boy named Charlie Hall left his family's apartment in Nashville, Tennessee. It was around 3 p.m. when Charlie, known to some as "Little Charlie," departed from his home at 525 40th Avenue, North, to go visit his girlfriend. He was last seen leaving her house at approximately 5 p.m. that evening. He never made it back to his own home, and his family has not seen or heard from him since that day. His disappearance marked the beginning of a mystery that has now stretched for decades, leaving a family without answers. At the time he went missing, Charlie was described as a Black / African American male, standing five feet eight inches tall and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. He had both black hair and brown eyes. A notable and distinguishing physical characteristic was a birthmark located on his right cheek. When he was last seen, he was wearing a black jacket, maroon-colored pants, and a pair of tennis shoes. These details provide the last known image of the teenager before he seemingly vanished without a trace on his way home. The hours and days following Charlie's failure to return home were filled with confusion and concern. What happened in the time after he left his girlfriend's residence remains unknown. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has been the investigating agency in charge of his case, but the circumstances surrounding his disappearance have remained unclear. In an effort to generate new leads, law enforcement has utilized age-progression photos to show what Charlie might look like as a grown man. Furthermore, DNA samples from his mother, father, and brother have been collected and submitted to national databases in the hope of a future match. The case of Charlie Hall is that of a young teenager who disappeared on the last day of the year after visiting his girlfriend; despite the passage of time and investigative efforts, there have been no significant breakthroughs, and his whereabouts are still unknown.
