Tim was a friendly and outgoing young man with a slight learning disability, which made him somewhat naive and function at a younger age than his 18 years.
He lived at the farm during the week and would typically return to his family's home on the weekends. He had told his father he would be home for the weekend, and with a horse show in town he was expected to participate in, his family initially wasn't worried when he didn't arrive as planned.
The last confirmed sighting of Timothy Guy was on the evening of February 6, 1987. Coworkers at Sleepy Fox Farm reported seeing him leave around 9:00 p.m. with a man identified only as 'Jeff.' This individual was described as being around 5'10' tall, with a muscular build, brown hair, and a beard, and was said to be driving a 1972 or 1974 Chevrolet Impala. The narrative provided by the farm's foreman, Phillip Klinger, was that Tim had left with Jeff, possibly heading to a bar they frequented. However, when Tim failed to show up for work on Monday, February 9th, Klinger contacted Tim's parents. This was the first indication that something was terribly wrong, as his family had not seen or heard from him.
When Timothy's parents arrived at the farm, they were met with a startling scene. Klinger and his wife had already gathered all of Tim's belongings, washed his clothes, and had his last paycheck ready. This swift action raised suspicions for the family and investigators, as it seemed as though there was a rush to remove any trace of Tim from the farm. The existence of 'Jeff' has also been questioned by law enforcement, with some believing he may have been a fabrication to cover up what truly happened to Tim at the farm. The family believes that Timothy may have witnessed illegal activities, as Klinger was later arrested on drug and weapons charges. A disturbing and unverified claim from an unnamed source suggested that Tim's body was put through a tree shredder and his remains discarded in a river.
