Glenda Frances Moorehead, 43, was last seen between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on March 18, 1988, outside a club called Proud Mary's in Tyler, Texas. She was reported missing after failing to return home that night. Moorehead's blue 1975 Chevrolet with a white top was found in the same location where she was last seen. Inside the car, her personal items, including her purse, identification, coat, and billfold, were left on the front seat.
The car's keys were still in the ignition, and the headlights were on. Disturbingly, bloodstains and one of her shoes were also found near the vehicle, but there was no other sign of her.
Investigators suspected foul play early in the investigation. Moorehead, a mother of three, worked as a head waitress in Tyler at the time of her disappearance. A person of interest in the case later died by suicide, though authorities were unable to confirm if he was involved in Moorehead’s presumed abduction.
