Michelle Jean Valadez, also known as Michelle Barnett, was last seen on May 30, 1994. At the time, she was 18 years old and living in Palm Springs, California, after having recently moved there from Ontario, California, with her three-year-old son and his 29-year-old father. Michelle called her family on the day of her disappearance, indicating that she planned to return home soon, but she was never heard from again.
Two weeks after her disappearance, her mother received a disturbing phone call from an unidentified person, warning that Michelle was in danger and needed help to leave Palm Springs. Nine months later, the man Michelle had moved with killed one of his brothers, and Michelle's family believes her disappearance is linked to this crime. While no official confirmation or arrests have been made in connection to her case, her family suspects foul play, and it is thought that Michelle may have been killed sometime between August and September of 1994.
At the time of her disappearance, she may have been driving a 1994 blue Ford Thunderbird or a black Chevrolet Camaro with a customized California license plate. Her case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to seek answers.
