In the late winter of 2002, a sense of unease settled over the family of Michael Allen Jarvi, a 28-year-old man from Naselle, Washington. On March 22, Michael, who was also known as Mickel, left his family's home with a plan to meet his cousin in Astoria, Oregon. He was last seen wearing a blue and black Columbian Sportswear jacket, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and white athletic shoes.
