Alan Rhys Dowden, aged 29, was last seen on October 26, 2003, near the Trinity River Dam in Camilla, Texas. Dowden was spending time at his father's lake house with his three children, his girlfriend, and her family. On the day of his disappearance, he had been outside playing with the children. While walking near the dam, all the children except one returned to the house.
According to the seven-year-old child, Dowden had stepped away behind a dune, reportedly to use the bathroom, and never returned. After waiting for some time, the child also went back to the house.
Despite this concerning situation, law enforcement initially did not take the disappearance seriously, potentially because of Dowden's age. His mother, Gay Dowden, later mentioned that her son did not have his wallet or car keys with him, and none of his belongings, including his truck, were missing. These details only deepened the mystery surrounding his vanishing. Though family members searched for him, no significant leads have surfaced regarding his whereabouts since that day.
Dowden was last seen wearing a red "Texas" baseball cap, a camouflage t-shirt, Wrangler jeans, and Justin cowboy boots. He has several distinctive tattoos, including one with the letters "LPC" and another of a skull wearing a hat.
