Schaefer, a 53-year-old woman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was last seen on the night of August 4, 2004, at approximately 10:08 p.m. She disappeared from her residence on the 500 block of South 76th Street in Milwaukee. Irene was believed to be wearing a white tank top, white shorts, and white sneakers at the time. She had blonde hair, green eyes, and wore gold-framed glasses. Irene was also a critical asthmatic who required daily medication, which she did not have with her when she vanished, raising concerns about her health.
Irene's disappearance was highly unusual, as it was out of character for her to be out of contact with her family. Despite extensive investigations, no significant leads have emerged, and she has not been seen or heard from since. Irene also had several scars from previous surgeries, including a 4-inch surgical scar on her abdomen and scars from a hysterectomy and bunion surgeries.
