She had packed a bag with clothes and family photos. He also reported finding two handwritten notes, one stained with her blood, which gave instructions regarding her son and possessions should anything happen to her.
In the hours leading up to her disappearance, Jennifer was at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino with a friend. At approximately 5:30 a.m., she took a taxi to the Reno Sparks Cab Company, where her mother was employed, in the vicinity of the 400 block of Gentry Way. Upon arrival, she learned her mother was not there. Intoxicated and unable to pay the cab fare, Jennifer fled, breaking her high-heeled shoes in the process, and was last seen climbing over a fence at the back of the business. Shortly before she disappeared, she made a phone call to her father in Las Vegas, expressing a need to go there. She was reportedly wearing a tan sweater and blue jeans and carrying a red shoulder bag, but was without shoes. Jennifer has a tattoo of the initials 'J.G.' on her right foot, double-pierced ears, and a pierced navel.
