Joseph Thomas Sweat Jr., aged 47, was last seen on the night of July 11, 2005, at approximately 10:55 PM in Washington, D.C. He was walking away from his residence located in the 1100 block of North Capitol Street NW. Sweat was wearing a white t-shirt, dark baggy jeans, sneakers, and a dark keychain around his neck at the time of his disappearance. Despite extensive efforts by the authorities, he has not been heard from since.

Standing between 5'11" and 6'1" and weighing around 210 pounds, Sweat had distinctive black hair and brown eyes. He also wore partial dentures, which might be a key identifying feature. Few details have emerged regarding the circumstances of his disappearance, and his case remains unsolved.
