In the late summer of 2005, a 26-year-old woman named Amanda Kay Jones was eagerly awaiting the birth of her second child, a boy she planned to name Hayden. A single mother to her young daughter, Hannah, Amanda was described as having a very close relationship with her family. On August 14, 2005, Amanda, who was 32 weeks pregnant, made plans to meet with a male acquaintance, Bryan Lee Westfall, at the Hillsboro Civic Center in Hillsboro, Missouri.
