Victoria Anne Cotton, a 50-year-old woman from Goleta, California, was last seen on July 15, 2006. She left her home that morning on foot, possibly heading to the Farmer's Market or the French Festival in Santa Barbara. There were reports that she stopped at a 7-Eleven in downtown Goleta, but her exact last known location remains uncertain. Victoria, also known as "Vicky," was well known in her community and had a background in physics and mechanical engineering. She had worked in advanced infrared science before a serious illness changed her life.

In 1986, Victoria suffered from bacterial meningitis, which led to a brain abscess and multiple surgeries. Though these left her with cognitive issues, such as short-term memory loss and balance problems, her intelligence remained intact, and she could live independently. However, due to her condition, she was considered vulnerable.

At the time of her disappearance, Victoria was carrying very little money and had no plans to leave for an extended period. She was known to frequent community centers, libraries, and markets in the area and primarily used public transportation. Despite past instances of briefly going missing, she had always returned within a day, making her prolonged disappearance unusual and concerning. Her case remains unsolved, with a $5,000 reward offered for information.
