Phyllis Lorain Powell, a 5-year-old girl from Woodland, North Carolina, vanished on January 11, 1963. She was last seen around noon after leaving a neighbor's house on Ashe Street, where she had been watching television. Phyllis, wearing a brown coat and a white diaper wrapped around her head like a scarf, was spotted skipping towards State Route 35.
