On December 26, 1968, nine-year-old Bob Louis Richard Boyes vanished from his hometown of Port Republic, Maryland. That afternoon, Bob had been at a friend’s house and left with his pet deer, walking home along Wash Hance Road. His pet deer arrived back at his home, but Bob was never seen again. His disappearance prompted a large-scale search involving hundreds of volunteers, combing the area on foot and by air, but no trace of Bob was found.
