Dennis Martin, a 6-year-old boy, went missing on June 14, 1969, during a family camping trip in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, specifically at Spence Field, a popular spot near the Appalachian Trail. He was last seen playing a game of "hide and seek" with other children, including his brother. The plan was for the children to surprise the adults by sneaking up on them, but Dennis never reappeared.
