Mary Margaret Cook, a 25-year-old mother of two, went missing on November 14, 1970, from Highland City, Florida. On the day of her disappearance, her husband, Leathern "Earl" Cook, claimed that she had left to go shopping at a local store to buy Christmas presents for their children. She never returned home. The next day, her white 1959 Cadillac was found abandoned in the store's parking lot, with her wallet inside, but the $200 she was reportedly carrying was missing.
