Steven Pearsall, a 35-year-old janitor, was last seen on the night of September 12, 1982, at the Lewiston Civic Theater in Lewiston, Idaho. He had been dropped off by a friend with the intention of doing laundry and practicing his clarinet, but he vanished without a trace. His clarinet, something he was known to care deeply about, was left behind at the theater, as was his car, which was parked at a friend's house, and an uncashed paycheck in his apartment.
