Sean Wayne Evans, a 2-year-old boy, disappeared on May 17, 1984, from his family's yard in Watertown, New York. Around 5:30 p.m. that day, Sean was playing outside near his home with his ball and his baby brother. His mother briefly went inside to answer a phone call, and when she returned just minutes later, Sean was gone. The ball he had been playing with was found near the bank of the Black River, which flowed behind their home.
