In May of 1989, a 20-year-old woman named Tammy Ann Jarvis was residing with her aunt in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the time, her aunt was out of town, leaving Tammy at the residence. On May 10th, neighbors witnessed a deeply disturbing event. They reported seeing Tammy being forcibly dragged into the backyard by her boyfriend, who was armed with a shotgun. This was the last time anyone reported seeing or hearing from Tammy Ann Jarvis. She was a young mother at the time of her disappearance. Following the incident, Tammy was reported as a missing person, and an investigation into her disappearance was launched by the Baton Rouge Police Department. Despite the eyewitness accounts of the altercation with her armed boyfriend, he was never charged in connection with her case. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance were alarming to both her family and the community. She was described as an African-American female with black hair and brown eyes, standing at approximately 5'6" and weighing around 150 pounds. Years passed without any sign of Tammy or any significant breaks in her case. In an unrelated matter in 1992, her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance was convicted of second-degree murder in the shooting death of another girlfriend and has been incarcerated. The case of Tammy Ann Jarvis remains an open and unsolved missing persons investigation. The lack of resolution has left her family with unanswered questions about what happened to her after she was last seen on that distressing day in May 1989. The investigation remains with the Baton Rouge Police Department.
