In the late summer of 1994, a young mother named Joyce Lynn Dupont vanished from Lake Charles, Louisiana, leaving behind a life and a family that continues to seek answers. On September 8th, the 25-year-old was at her sister's home, where she left her child in her sister's care. Joyce, who often went by her middle name Lynn, mentioned she was heading to the Housing Authority. She was last seen walking toward the corner of Bank and Broad Streets with the intention of catching a bus. Tragically, she never reached her destination and has not been seen or heard from since. Joyce is described as a Black female with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'6" and weighing around 135 pounds at the time of her disappearance. She had distinctive tattoos, including her middle name, "Lynn," on her leg and the letter "D" on her arm. She was last seen wearing white shorts and black sandals. Those who knew her described her as a responsible and bold individual, making her sudden disappearance all the more alarming to her loved ones. Authorities and her family do not believe she would have voluntarily abandoned her two children. The investigation into Joyce Dupont's disappearance has spanned decades with very few leads. It is unclear if she ever boarded the bus or what happened to her after she left her sister's home. The case is classified as an endangered missing person, and despite the passage of time, it remains unsolved. The lack of information and the mystery surrounding her last known movements have been a source of ongoing pain for her family.
