In the spring of 1996, a man named Shriram V. Lele vanished under perplexing circumstances, leaving behind a mystery that has endured for decades. At the age of 53, Mr. Lele was last seen at the New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana, preparing to embark on a journey back to his native India.
