In the early morning hours of September 24, 1989, 23-year-old Adrian Juan Planells vanished from Kenner, Louisiana, leaving behind a loving family and a life full of promise. He had finished his shift as a dishwasher at the Casa Garcia restaurant and joined a coworker at Luc Eddie's lounge on Mississippi Avenue. After having a couple of beers, he told his friends he was heading home to study for a college exam. Witnesses saw him get into his bluish-green 1968 Chevrolet Camaro and drive away. That was the last time anyone ever saw him. Adrian, who lived with his parents on Florida Avenue, was known as a responsible and family-oriented young man. He was a college student with aspirations and had never been away from home without notifying his family. In the wake of his disappearance, his family discovered that none of his personal belongings were missing from his room, and his bank account remained untouched. The 1968 Chevrolet Camaro he was driving, with Louisiana license plate 816B554, also disappeared without a trace and was never re-registered or sold. For decades, Adrian's family has been left with the torment of not knowing what happened to him. His sister, who was only 12 at the time of his disappearance, has continued to search for answers, hoping for closure for her family. The Kenner Police Department has revisited the case over the years, but the passage of time has made the investigation increasingly difficult. Despite the lack of new leads, the hope remains that someone will come forward with information that could finally solve the mystery of Adrian Planells' disappearance.
