On the evening of May 18, 1996, Robert 'Bob' Dale Jr., a 33-year-old man from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, vanished without a trace. Earlier that night, he and his wife attended a wedding reception. Following the reception, they, along with other guests, planned to continue the evening at a local bar called The Downtowner.
