Fawcett was last seen in Donegal, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1997. She was last seen at the Donegal Exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. An acquaintance reportedly told police they were headed to Philadelphia. She reportedly disappeared near the Irwin Swamp.
