In the early morning hours of May 8, 1999, James Anthony 'Amp' Reynolds was with five friends at The Hideaway Club in Opp, Alabama. The group, consisting of Reynolds, Lamar Junior Stackhouse, Valerie Jones McCoy, Evla Jossett Lee, Tamara Monique Ward, and Angela Roberts Young, was seen leaving the nightclub at approximately 3:15 a.m. They all departed in Stackhouse's burgundy 1986 Chevrolet Caprice, seemingly heading home after a night out.
