Timeka Donyale Pridgen, a 16-year-old girl, was last seen on May 12, 2001, at her home in La Grange, North Carolina. On that evening, her mother, Cosandra Best, had a phone conversation with her boyfriend, Eric Earl Mercer Moore, who said he would arrive at her home in five minutes. Cosandra, who was planning to break up with him that night, fell asleep after the call. When she woke up around midnight, she discovered that both her daughter Timeka and Moore were missing.
