Jarkeius Adside, a one-year-old boy, was abducted on October 18, 2001, during a home invasion in Miami, Florida. At the time of his disappearance, Jarkeius was being cared for by a babysitter, Gwendolyn Brown, while his parents were both incarcerated. Brown reported that three unknown men entered her home in the early morning, allegedly during a robbery. She stated that she and her boyfriend were bound with duct tape while the intruders searched the house, demanding money.
After hearing a gunshot, they discovered that Jarkeius, along with several items from the home, was missing. Bloodstains, later confirmed to belong to Jarkeius, were found at the scene, raising concerns that he may have been seriously injured during the incident.
Despite composite sketches of the suspects and continued investigations, no significant leads have emerged over the years. Brown and her boyfriend were later arrested on unrelated drug charges, and their delay in reporting the abduction led to skepticism about their account of events. However, Jarkeius' mother still believes that someone may have taken him and is caring for him. His case remains unsolved, and authorities have issued age-progressed photos in hopes of finding him.
